Maroš Belan dates his bonsai practice to 2008. He focuses on native Slovak trees, particularly medium and large deciduous specimens. His own account documents the 2019 masterclass at Bonsai Garten München.
Style and working approach
He identifies Walter Pall as an important influence on his naturalistic approach. Individual trunk forms and the impression of mature trees are central; his reports also show collaborative work and long-term development.
