Thomas Häring
Thomas Häring combines everyday work in the garden with personal guidance and individual learning with your own tree.
A path into bonsai
Host and owner of Bonsai Garten München
Thomas Häring established Bonsai Garten München in Zorneding. The garden brings together people taking their first steps in bonsai and practitioners developing more demanding trees.
His work with Walter Pall is publicly documented: Walter introduced the garden in 2019 with Thomas as its owner. In his account of a 2025 visit, Jonas Dupuich also describes Thomas as the garden's creator and records the masterclass held there.
Style and working approach
Thomas connects design with the everyday work of caring for a tree. He focuses on personal guidance: examining the starting material, answering care questions and making the next design steps understandable. Private lessons follow the participant’s experience and interests.
This practical approach brings care, maintenance and styling together. Working with your own tree makes design choices tangible and turns a general question into a specific task. Understanding how the bonsai can develop matters alongside the visible result.
The bonsai and yamadori garden is both a workplace and a meeting place. Exchanges with Walter Pall and other artists offer different perspectives on the material. Thomas helps people take their first steps and continue learning in the garden.
Learn together
Thomas is the contact for a private course or garden visit when you have a question about your tree. Information about the species, growing position and previous work helps prepare the session. The relevant course page explains how to arrange the date and scope.
